The Blind Side

Through this past week I read to page 29 in the blind side. Its still towards the begging and the meat of the story has not occurred yet. Really nothing much has happened yet but I have seen the movie so I am excited for it to get good because I loved the movie.

So far all I have read is chapter one, called the Back Story. It has just pretty much talked about past football experiences but really the story has not gotten started yet. It just talked about NFL greats and great plays and moments in the NFL. I look forward to read more of this next week so I can really start to get more into the story. 

The Blind Side

The book that I chose was The Blind Side. The author is Michael Lewis. I chose this book because I enjoy football and I really like watching football. Ive seen the movie but Im very excited to read the book. I dont know much about the author but I do know that the movie was very good so I expect the book to be just as good if not better. The book takes place in Mississippi. Has anyone else read or seen The Blind Side?

A Long Way Gone

 This summer I read A Long Way Gone which is a true story by Ishmael Beah. He is a very good author. A Long Way Gone is one of his most popular books and I hope to read more of his books later on through out this school year.

A Long Way Gone is about Ishmael when he was a boy at the age of 12 he had to become a soldier in a civil war that was in Sierra. His village was under attack by the rebels. Ishmael lost his whole family do to the rebels and he had to find a way to survive. He traveled all around Africa by himself trying to find food and trying to survive by his self. Then Ishmael met up with his uncle and they were excited to see each other. Then they went to New York to a meeting and talked about his journey. Ishmael told his uncle the whole story of how he had to survive in Africa by himself for a very long time and how much he learned along the way.
